Please HELP! Thank YOu!|||Weight that is used to test the strength, before breaking.
Length, could be another. It has a min or a max length.
Another could be height.

In a scientific experiment, what is the control variable for?
Please help, i don't really get what it's for! Thanx in advance
xxx|||the control is used so that you have something to compare the results of your experiment to. The control is unchanged throughout the experiment.|||The control is for two things.
One, it will confirm that the experiment works as it should (e.g. in a bacterial experiment, a control can confirm sterility of the growth media).
Also, a control will give you the "zero response" if you use it for a calibration, in which case it is also known as a blank.|||control variables establish baselines. There are expected statistical results from the status quo %26amp; they should be accounted for prior to altering the test poulation.|||There are 3 variables which can be identified:
-manipulated variable: factors which are changed during experiment
-responding variable: factors that change according to changes in manipulated variable
-fixed variable: factors which does not change at all during experiment
In a scientific investigation, one variable is manipulated to study its relationship with a responding variable.

What's a Constant and a Control Variable ?
Whats the dfffrence between a constant and a control variable ? Please show examples [:|||er i thought they were the same thing
True or false if you do not control variables in an experiment there will be no way to know which variable exp?
True|||Yeah, you forgot to finish your question, but I can tell you that the answer is false. Multiple regression techniques make it possible to determine the importance of each variable without holding one constant.|||I think you forgot to finish the question here.
In AP Bio, lab 7, I would like to know what the control and variable is of the flies?
In AP Bio, lab 7, about drosophilia melanogasters, I"m wondering what would be the control and variable for the report?|||If this is a fly mating experiment, then there is no control. The purpose of these demonstrations is to show you the behavior of alleles within a gene.
You have the theory behind genetics, and the expected ratios from your crosses. You have the actual results from your crosses. The next step is to see how well the actual numbers fit the expected numbers, probably using statistical tests.
Thus this is more of a learning situation, and a reaffirmation of the behavior of genes in fruit flies.|||I know that when I did the drosophilia melangaster lab, that we were looking for eye color, sex determination and also for the generation after A1.
Hopefully this helps.

Which one is the control, the independent variable and the dependent variable?
here is the problem:
you wash three loads of the same dishes, each with a different type of detergent, all in warm water. you also wash a fourth load of dishes with only warm water. identify the control, the independent variable and the dependent variable.|||independent variable is the detergents
dependent variable is the cleaness of the dishes
control is a clean dish to compare the tests to|||independent variable is what you change in the experiment
dependent variable is what you are trying to measure as a result of conducting the experiment.
a control is something you use to compare your intended changes in the experiment against.

Control and Variable for this experiment?
I am doing a science fair project on does age affect memory span and retention and my experiment will be to test people of different ages by giving them a paper with different words and seeing how much they will remember in three minutes.
What will the control and variable for this?|||Age is the independent variable and memory span and retention is the dependent variable
The control is the words you use in the experiment, you would want all the words to be the same for each person,
