I did my science experiment on plant food. So I gave one plant water and the other plant food. So what is the control? Also what is the dependent and independent variable?|||If you were investigating the effect of plant food on growth rate, the control was the plant given plain water. The only difference between them was the presence or absence of plant food, so if you noticed a difference it was probably caused by the plant food.
To be accurate you would need to do this experiment on many plants and compare the average growth rate of the two groups.
If you were using a range of strengths of plant food (using a number of plants) the strength would be the independent variable and the growth rate of the plants would be the dependent variable.
