Experimental group, control and variable that needs to be controlled?

I am doing an experiment on does hot water or cold water freeze faster. I need to know what the experimental group would be, the control and the variable that needs to be controlled. thanks im really confused.|||Your experimental group is water (hot and cold), your control is room-temperature water and your control variable is anything you keep the same to make the experiment reliable, (e.g: volume of container, shape of container, etc)
