Identify the control variable and the dependent variable. Express the variation constant as a rate?

Identify the control variable and the dependent variable. Express the variation constant as a rate.

The weight of a quantity of water caries directly with its volume. 2ft^3 of water weighs 125 lb.|||If weight varies with volume then weight is dependent on volume.

Weight is therefore the dependent variable and volume is the control variable.

If weight varies directly, then the relationship will be of the formula type

W = kV

k = W/V

FInd the contstant k using the data you have:

k = 125lb/2ft^3

= 62.5 lb/ft^3

(don't forget the units)|||Volume is control

Weight is dependent

Variation constant is 62.5 (lb/cu.ft.)
